epistolary form today

We've been talking about epistolary form in relation to Samuel Richardson's 1748 novel Clarissa, but I think that epistolary form is alive and well today. In fact, much of the social media that we use and encounter relies upon creating a sense that we're sharing one another's lives moment by moment. This can be mundane and even irritating (like someone posting on Facebook what they eat for lunch each day), or profound (live blogging a revolution).

So, what are some of your experiences with epistolary form today? In particular, how do current epistolary forms compare to older epistolary novels?
